When managing feelings of anger, you have to stop and observe how you got there? Why am I angry? What is happening here? What factors contributed to feeling angry, why did I do this? Was it what people were saying? Why did I let this anger control me? Anger comes from feeling that we’re not loved. It can be depression and trauma because what has happened in the past, whether it be disappointment, hurt, or abuse. They’re hurting me with what they’re saying or what they have done. When we get angry, we immediately think we have to defend ourselves. In reality, we don’t. With Jesus, we can turn around and walk away, or take time to objectively understand the situation. We need to work on letting go of anger. Our happiness and wellbeing depends on it. The Lord is with us and will give us the strength. He tells us not to be angry. Pray and ask Jesus. What is the root of my anger? Take classes or seek counseling services to find out what the root is. Honestly reflect on what it is that keeps us angry. The past, the old ways, the people in our past that hurt us, release it all to Jesus. This is one of the top priorities you must work on in your life. The force of the enemy works in many ways to keep you feeling depressed and under the influence of anger. The enemy is always at work trying to keep you down. He has power over the world and is always at work. He takes our emotions, physical pain, past pain and hurts, and uses them against us to keep us unhappy. The enemy can encourage us to drink alcohol or take drugs, whatever we need to do to cover up this pain. When we are involved in these different pleasures- drugs, food overeating we are involved in. Our Lives swings back and forth like a pendulum sober and unsober feeling and not feeling. We are afraid of feeling because the feelings hurt. So we go deeper into our self, covering up our pain with whatever we can to be comfortable. These cover-ups for our pain will only last for a little while. And then the pain rises again, often worse that it was before. We feel we’re trying to attempt to reduce our anger to more tolerable levels. The Lord says the pleasure is just for a little while. This is very toxic to the body, mind, and soul. Holding onto anger and refusing to forgive releasing it to God is very destructive. Keeps us from growing in the Lord Jesus Christ. One of the ways to get rid of this pain is to recognize it and take it to the Lord and have forgiveness for whoever was involved in this pain, rejection, hurt. Accept the fact you have no control over this anger, but only God can help you get control and through it. And with him you can let go of the people that have hurt you or rejected you. One of the most important things is to recognize that most likely in all these situations it was not your fault. This is where shame and guilt come in. There is time that it is our fault. We then pray to our Lord to forgive us and give us whatever we need to forgive ourselves. One of the ways just to heal is that you have to admit to God and yourself that you are really hurting and you do need God’s help. When we let anger take control, we are helpless and let the hurt guide our words and actions. A person may be scared to death of appearing “out of control” to others and combat that by exerting anger to show they are in control. We may want to control people to keep ourselves from hurting. When we control people that are in our basket, then they can’t hurt us. Controlling people’s not of God. God does not control us. Most of all, we must recognize that we are not to do the controlling on any person. The love, attention, and support you feel is lacking from the outside world must come from God, not be sought in the world. When we expect people to do what we want, and these people don’t do what we want, we become vulnerable to anger and depression due to the extreme expectation that we want of other people. When people do what we want we have their support.
What is underneath your anger? You can deal with your anger and depression by surrendering it all to God. By viewing thing through the lens of Jesus, he can bring us peace and joy realizing that everything is so awesome. The disappointment you feel in not getting what you want can be devastating. It upsets you and can lead to depression to feel let down by others. We believe in our hearts that if we could control people to obey our personal demands, we will have true happiness.

Whether we are talking about addiction to drugs, alcohol, food, sex, pornography, gambling, food, smoking and so on, all of this numbs our consciousness from being aware of our sin. Many people feel there’s no hope of overcoming their addiction. Some people feel they’re just a “Bad Apple”. They may believe that this is just the way it is and this is how they are going to live. They may think that they like what they’re doing and it’s the only source of joy in their life. They may even believe that they are free from the rules of society or “the man” trying to control them, or have tapped into a higher plane of existence not accessible to the rest of society. They live in denial of the damage they are causing themselves and those around them. They are trapped into their addiction and they’re filled with disorder. It is selfish living frankly; stealing to fund their addictions, compulsive behaviors that consists of manipulation of others. They live in utter Darkness. They refuse to accept that it is hurting them and those they care about. Addiction often stems from the desire to suppress an issue or trauma that is causing discomfort and pain. It is always an underlying issue that leads them to their addiction. Start Where You Are If you decide to quit smoking, or any unhealthy habit, it needs to first start with a plan. You don’t have to quit something before you can start to recover from that addiction, you have to start where you are. Start to recognize your strengths and weakness. God knows you and he’s here with you to get you through it. Ask him to guide you and what his plan is for you to get through this addiction. You don’t have to quit today, but you do have to want your life to get better. You do want to get over this addiction. If you are willing to quit and desire to have a better life, then you’re more willing to put the hard work and effort it takes to overcome that addiction. In order to reach true recovery, there are vital questions that you need to ask yourself. What is the root of your addiction? Is it unresolved past traumas that have never been delt with? What is making you unhappy today that drives you to reach for that comfort? What substance or thing are you using to cover your pain? Do you like your life and the direction it is going? Are you able to recognize your pain and where it is coming from? What is keeping you in a state of distress? What excuses are you giving to justify use of the substances? Today, you need to realize you need different tools. God has a very clear solution To have victory over addiction the very first tool you need is to make sure the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior. You will overcome addictions by turn your life over to Christ. He can give you whatever you need to recover from this addiction. God can heal the Brokenness the pain. When you walk with him, and he lives within you to guide you towards having a better life. He promised you he will help you through all struggles. Your Christian faith overcomes addiction through the process of a spiritual transformation. God can provide the strength, support, and clarity that is necessary for you to work through any obstacle there is on your path toward recovery. We need to remember that addictions are just a symptom of issues in our life that remain unhealed. It stems from unresolved traumas of things that have happened to us that we don’t know how to properly cope with. The Bible refers to these as burdens. Whatever has happened to us in life, it is causing us to have lingering pain. When we have pain, we figure out some way to medicate it. The next thing we need to do in our life. We need to recognize that this pain is coming from our past and we need to choose to change the approach to truly become healed. Through the Lord Jesus Christ, you can take control of your life and you can have a new life in peace and comfort.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV Anger is an emotion that forces us to look deeper within ourselves and examine our relationship with the world. To improve in this are we must develop a new way of recognizing angers. Listen to the things that bring anger and bring it before the Lord, asking Jesus to fill it with his peace and let it go to Him. When we do this, we will have achieved path of joyfulness and peace. Anger has a lot of energy. You may be one to direct the energy outwards. You may have suppressed your anger. You may have never had a chance to even feel your anger, let alone know you possess it. You may feel hurt because you loved people and you think they didn’t care. Your anger may come from feeling wronged or a sense of injustice has occurred against you, those you care about, or your belongings. Whatever brings you anger, it is important to recognize the source and bring it before the Lord. A man of wrath stirs up strife, and one given to anger causes much transgression Prov 29:22 ESV In order to confront your anger, you have to be willing to come before the lord and ask him to reveal what triggers your anger? Many behaviors can be attributed to underlying anger such as losing your patience, shouting, slamming doors, and driving aggressively. Suppression of anger is attempting to hold it in, which can also be destructive. Suppression of anger, can cause you to turn your anger inward on yourself or express your anger through passive-aggressive behavior. Anger can come from feeling as if your opinion or efforts aren’t appreciated, feeling disrespected, and a sense of injustice. Bring it before the Lord the next time you feel angry or want to cover up your anger with substances. How we handle our anger also depends how we were taught to handle anger. What was the example you had growing up for how to handle anger? Was it appropriate or inappropriate, was upset expressed in a calm way, frustrated way, or through angry outbursts and substance abuse? We have to be willing to bring this before the Lord about the ways we have learned to deal with expressing our anger. We need to seek his guidance and intervention in the act of conveying our anger, especially if it is through violent outbursts. Anger can be converted into more constructive behavior. With the strength of the Lord, you can learn to control your outward behavior and your internal responses by calming yourself and letting your feelings subside into Jesus’s hands.
Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Psalm 4:4 ESV Anger is a form of self-defense. It’s a natural respond to perceived threats. It’s not that bad to feel anger. Being angry can help to share your concerns, it can prevent others from walking all over you. It can motivate you to do something positive. The key is to manage your anger in a healthy way. It is fear-based. Anger is a response to fear. A response to a threat, whether perceived or real. Expression of anger means the person or situations got the best of our emotions. Anger is often called a secondary emotion because we tend to resort to anger in order to protect ourselves from, or cover up, other vulnerable feelings. A primary feeling is what is felt immediately before we feel angry. We almost feel something else before we get angry. Anger is a natural response to a perceived threat against our well-being or position. The response causes the body to release adrenaline, muscles to tighten, and the heart rate and blood pressure to increase. This is not healthy, especially when it is prolonged and ongoing. Anger almost always comes with fear and disguises some sort of weakness or more vulnerable emotion such as anxiety, shame, guilt, helplessness, grief, disgust, fear, or sadness. Often times it can originate from the negative emotions and negative attitudes that we grew up with in our immediate environment. Anger can come from being disappointed with oneself and serves as protection from deeply painful or shameful times. Expressions of anger can be triggered by many sources including stories, family problems, financial issues, or even seeing others succeed. For some people, anger is caused by underlying disorder such as alcoholism depression. Anger itself isn’t considered disorder, but can be identified as a symptom of various mental health conditions. The root of anger includes pain, fear and frustration. For example, some people become angry as a fearful reaction to uncertainty to fear of losing a job or fear of failure. Others become angry when they are hurt in a relationship or our caused pain by a close friend. When we get angry, there can be other emotions hidden beneath the surface? It is easy to see a person angry, but it’s difficult to see the underlying feelings that the anger is protecting. Anger can be a symptom of other unexpressed emotions. Anger is a protection of raw feelings that lie beneath it. When we listen to people that are angry at us and the anger is directed us we often become defensive. We will fight back as our own anger boils to the surface in the same self-preservation response. We get in a heated verbal battle which almost always leaves both parties feeling misunderstood and hurt. The best approach is to remain calm, try to understand where the person's anger is coming from , and work towards solving the underlying problem. Tips to contain the anger
1. Remain Calm. By remaining calm, you can set the tone for the interaction and bring an air of peace to even the most difficult situation. This is the MOST important piece. 2. Don’t take it personally. Other people’s anger is usually not about you, it’s about their feelings. One of the ways to do this is to become curious about why they’re angry. Work to discover what their underlying feelings are with their anger. This gives us understanding. 3. Do not tell the other person to “calm down” or say “you’re overreacting” or “what’s wrong with you”. This makes a person feel that their feelings don’t matter or are not acceptable. The goal here is not to try to change or fix the other person’s emotions, but rather just stand on their anger iceberg with them. Healthy communication comes when you express that you understand and accept their feelings. When you do this, well, this person’s anger will subside because they will feel heard, which builds a trust over time. 4. Work to identify the obstacle blocking the goal. This will give you the insight into why they are becoming angry. The bottom line is that beneath everyone’s anger lies a reason. A valid emotion on its own, remember that anger can also indicate other emotions that need to be addressed and validated. 5. Paraphrase their statements. By repeating back to the person what message that they are trying to convey, the person feels heard, understood, and validated. By feeling heard, they begin to lower their defensive stance and grow calmer. 6. Do not assume or read between the lines a different problem they did not express. For example a wife expresses she is overwhelmed by the constant clutter and mess, her husband says he thinks she is just stressed about money and bills. 7. Work towards solutions. By working to acknowledge underlying feelings and problems that are leading to the anger, brainstorm with the person to identify plausible solutions that may be put into practice. Lord, as I walk through life, I will believe Your promise that You will make something good out of all the storms that I go through and that You are with me. Lord, I believe that You closed the lion’s mouth for Daniel, parted the Red Sea for Moses, made the sun stand still for Joshua, opened the prison for Peter, put a baby in the arms of Sarah, and raised Lazarus from the dead. You then certainly can take care of me through the day. Nothing that I am facing today is too hard for You to handle, Lord. You love me and You will get me through this. I love You and God bless You, my precious Lord. You have pointed me to walk Your way. The only way I get healing is to honestly realize that You, Jesus, have given me perfect forgiveness and that You do live in me. Lord, You do love me with an everlasting love. Praise you my Lord you are the one that sustains me from evil amen.
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV Your servant forever, Carol My precious Lord I feel overwhelmed today, busy, overpowered, helpless, and overcome by all the things that are going on in my life. I am drowning. Beneath me is a huge mess of what’s going on in my life. I understand overwhelmed means a strong feeling a great amount that’s going on in life. I don’t want to run by negative emotions: sadness, persistent anger, fear, anxiety, guilt and depression. Sometimes these feelings I don’t even realize are in my life. I just start reacting to them. Lord, I’m asking You that I find guidance in this. Help me find a healthy outlet. Let me see the bigger picture. Help me to replace my negative thoughts with positive thoughts and to forgive myself for my emotional happenings. Show me what my emotional triggers are. Help me to meditate and take a moment to be still and see what is going on. Be kind to myself and others. Give me the strength to focus on my breathing and to take a step back and look at the situation. Help me to take my anger to You and my pain and understand what’s going on. “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:1-2 Lord, I know some of my emotions are operating unconsciously. Help me understand which ones they are and find self-control in these emotions. I can control these emotions through You, Lord, who will strengthen me to do so. Give me whatever I need Lord to watch what I’m saying. Don’t let me be quick to respond with anger or bitterness. If I’m sad, let me admit my feelings. Lord, when I have too much of something going on in my life and I don’t know exactly how to handle it, please step in and give me experience and help me depend on You to get through this. Amen. “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.” Psalm 61:3-4 Lord, help me to meditate and take a moment and be still and lean on You and talk to You about what is going on. Help me to postpone anything that doesn’t really need to be done and put the priority first. Set realistic goals and give to other people and allocate some of the stuff that needs to be done. Lord, when I feel that something is too difficult to deal with and I feel like I don’t know how to handle it, Lord, You go before me and You show me the way. You guide me and direct me. Lord, when I’m almost done with grief, the things that are going on in my life, help me to put these in Your hand and ask for Your guidance and directions. Lord, when depression and stress comes into my life, help me to get understanding in this and clear my mind and put You first. Amen.
“Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.” Psalm 31:2-3 Your Servant Forever, Carol My past doesn’t have to determine my future. I can find healing in You, Jesus Christ. For me to experience a healthy soul, mind, and spirit, it is time for me to stand up and say that I need You, Jesus. I need You to empower me to stop feeling sorry for myself through You, Jesus. I need You to empower me to not focus on the past and give it to You as it comes up. I need you to go before me and empower me to stop being angry and unhappy. Jesus, You give me courage to go forward. “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” Psalms 31:24 I need you to empower me to stop trying to do it in all my own strength and to lean on You and to believe and trust in You in all things. I need to make a choice to live in You, my Jesus, and Your promises instead of living in my pain. Let You heal me and restore my soul, body, and Spirit to freedom and to remove all the bondage that is in my soul and strongholds and generational curses. After years of being miserable, living with the pain and frustration of hurt from my past, I have come to the point that I refuse to live that way anymore. Trusting and believing in You is the only way my pain will go into Your hands right away. As I give You my burdens, You restore them and take them away. “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalms 55:22 My journey to total healing happens not always overnight, but I can honestly say that it was worth the growing time of whatever I go through to have a testimony to share with others. I have real peace and enjoy freedom in my life every day. I reach forward because I have a healthy soul for Your honor and glory. I’m passionate about helping other people experience the same wholeness in You, Christ, that I have. Around the world, Lord, people in all walks of life struggle with insecurity about their worth and are wondering if anyone could ever really love them for who they are. I know truly a fact - it’s You we desperately need. People need to desperately know the truth, Your Living Word of God! Jesus, You love us and You created us to be strong, confident, joyful, and able to fulfill the amazing potential You have given us, Your plan and Your will. “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Jude 1:21 Your Servant Forever, Carol
As my soul, mind, spirit, soul, will, and emotions become healthy, I can have real peace and joy in my life with You, Jesus. But if I live in the hurt, mood, and brokenness, it’s going to be an effort in part of my life in some way to daily believe and trust in You that You hear me and will heal me. When I move on in life thoughts, I will finally get rid of my problems and pain of being abused. I discovered that actually a lot of my past is carried with me because my soul was damaged and wounded. As I walked each day and certain things reminded me of my past, it created all kinds of dysfunction in my life and with my relationships. I kept holding on to them in self-pity, dwelling in the hurt. I didn’t give them to You, and over and over I would suffer even more because I felt I was hurt and I needed to cry it out. But Lord, You want me to forget the past, put it behind me, and go forward with Your Living Word Of Truth for Your honor and Your glory. Amen, so be it! I do know this, today, Lord, You are here for me and You’ll never leave me or forsake me. My story isn’t over. Whatever hurts I experienced or abusive abandonment or loss of loved one; loneliness, anxiety, depression, whatever it is Lord that is tormenting me, You my God want to heal my soul and broken heartedness. You promise me it really is possible through You. I don’t know how to keep going through each day stuck in a cycle of pain and dysfunction, but You my God have something so much better for my life as Your servant. You heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds, healing their pain, and comforting their sorrow. There it is, Lord, You are there for me. It’s a promise. That’s the good news! Whatever pain I’m going through, You God, my precious Lord, want to comfort me, heal me completely, and give me whatever I need to live each day. God, You will give me beauty for my ashes. “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3 I can cast all my cares and anxiety on You, my Lord.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 Instead of pain and shame, You will restore to me double what I have lost. “For your shame ye shall have double; and for your confusion they shall rejoice in their portion; therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.” Isaiah 61:7. I will find Hope knowing you are with me to guide and protect and comfort me. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me.“ Psalms 23:4. Your servant forever, Carol As I walk through the day I know Lord, you are there for me and you are holding my hands you give me wisdom and knowledge to do your will. You do have my back lord, you will never leave me. Lord, I Thank you for many blessings in the morning and all through the day. I look around and notice all the answers to prayers you have given me. I enjoy you so much Lord. You do answer my prayers. You give me breakthroughs to experience and open doors for me to walk through them. I see all the wonderful beautiful things you’ve done for me and my life. My Fabulous Jesus, your love is beautiful. I know Lord, my love, my faith in You is what brings me through in any situation that I have to go through. Your love reigns in my heart. When I pray, I feel our love close together, as we have such wonderful communication time and our love goes back and forth to each other. You are very protective of me you will not give me something that is not good for me. Sometimes you make me wait because I’m not ready to walk through the door you want to open for me. You still want me to learn and understand, for your honor and your glory. As I keep praying and moving forward even though I can’t see what is before me. I truly believe you have a plan you just want me to trust and believe in you and the steps you are giving me today. Lord, I believe that You are all power and that You will give me grace and mercy. No good thing will be withheld from me when I walk uprightly with You. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The Lord will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly Psalms 84:11. What you have for me each day, my faith in you will become sight and you will open the beautiful door that you have for me to walk through, with your power, understanding, and love. You’ll keep guiding and directing me, and giving me whatever I need to stay on your path. Amen. So be it. My precious Lord, each day as I walk with you God, I receive sight. You are my light. Thank you, Lord, for answering all my prayers and giving me your bright shiny light to walk in your way. As I walk along the way, I always see your beautiful flowers and the people that need you, Lord. Let me lean over, Lord, and tell them I love them and you do too. Let me give your Gospel of Salvation and bring that soul to you so they are not left behind and go to hell. My precious Lord, I Thank you for leading me and guiding me in every step of the way as I walk and talk with you. Lord each step brings me closer to you. Each step gives us a love of conversation together. I love you with all my heart and thank you for loving me. My heart is in love with you. Let my conversations be the best of you and of your great love and compassion to all others. I thank you for telling me each day how much you love me. Amen. So be it. Lord, you are special, you are my favorite. I love you with my heart. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 3:13. As I read in your Bible, The Living Word Of Truth, you give me answers for my daily walk. Today when I write in my journal, it’s exciting to look back on my other prayers and see how much you have done for me. I let people know the prayers you have answered and I how am confident in you Lord. Lord, I believe and trust in you and I see the best of you Lord in the land of the living. I thank you my precious Lord for never leaving me and guiding me in every second of my life for your honor and your glory amen so be it. My precious Lord, each day you are my constant source of encouragement. Your words live through me to all others. Each day, Lord, as I am out here in the battlefield with the Enemy, I pray you will help me to have whatever I need to continue to work and bring lost souls to you. No longer will The Enemy have power over me as you are my God and I’m thankful. I have you to encourage me each day on this battlefield. When I get wounded Lord, I lay down my heart to you and ask you to help me through this wounded time. You are my healer. The enemy has no strength or power over me. Lord God Almighty, I am thankful for your encouragement through all my days in battle. As I continue to walk on the battlefield you continue to encourage me as I see the wounded laying out there that need you. You help me heal them with your living word of your truth, the Bible. You help me encourage them and to get them up and to walk with you again. Bring that soul to repentance that is grounded in the bondage of alcohol, drugs, overeating, whatever it is Lord. These addictions, the bondage that the devil has on them, let them know that the devil is the one that is keeping them in bondage, not you. You help me teach your ways, your word that it is true and the only way to walk. I love you my God, You speak to me and all others, guide me on your path show me your bright shining light as I walk with you. My precious Lord, you are so good to me. as I read your Living Word Of Truth each morning, I look out the window and I see what a beautiful world you allow me to live in and the insight you give me to walk this way. I am thankful, enjoying each step you have given me to bring souls to you. Your children Lord, that are in need of you and wounded in this battle. Let me bring whatever they need to lean on you get up and walk with you again. If they don’t have you as their savior, give them salvation Lord, as you speak through me with your words. Only You, Lord, can save them. Lord, your timing is always right. When I’m hurting, you give me whatever I need to get up and walk with you. I just have to look up and say Lord, help me I need you. I do believe that you know and have the answers for me that is only truly right. For your honor and your glory.
My loving precious Lord, today I will submit myself to You and I will resist the devil and he will flee from me. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7. |
